No cropping for this lady and in fact she was nearly to close. Thanks to a certain Ranger for the heads up and a story that is a bit hard hitting. When I am on my travels I notice that photographers do not seem to be flavour of the month in some hides. I challenged the Ranger about his sign in the hide as we know people want to watch this wonderful bird. He sadly told me that some photographers were being complained about due to the tripos taking up extra space and people being told to get to the hide earlier, even worse spaces for the disabled were being used and not given up and if that is not bad enough the local woods were being used as toilets. He is of the opinion they may have to ban tripods and limit time which is a burden to him.
So just a thought when you sit in a hide please take only the space you need and give up tripod space to others and ensure you follow the hide instructions re seating.
Sorry about the rant but did feel ashamed to be a photograher.
super image, I am sure it is easier to take great photos inside a hide with a tripod, instead of balancing on the quad bike like I do. People are the same everywhere I'm afraid.
Its an interesting comment on bird hides in I presume England. I have rarely been in a bird hide here in Australia with other people. I guess a sparcer population...and more birds here...and probably fewer people really keen to see or protect the birds. amazing photo.
