Drowning

I am very sad this morning as this hydrangea looks like it is on the way out. I can see that the container is full of water and it looks like half the plant is already dead. I tried to turn the container into its side to empty the water out but I cannot move it. I think the drainage holes must be blocked. I need a strong man to come and help. Any offers? 🤪🤪🤪
I think I will cut the plant right back and see if that makes it a bit lighter. Fingers crossed I can save this plant as it’s one of my favourites.
Oh dear, I hope you can salvage it! They normally are very hardy, good luck .

If you have a drill, you could make holes low down on the side to help? Hope you get help

@casablanca I had a tree surgeon visit yesterday to give me a quote on cutting back fur trees and shrubs in garden which is really overgrown. I asked him to do me a favour and push the container over for me. He did it - with difficulty as the four drainage holes had roots growing through blocking the holes. The water drained out quickly. I think I need to cut back the hydrangea and maybe repot it. Hoping it will survive!
