I drove around the countryside trying to get a good pov of the viaduct. It was good to get high up and have a view across the valley - such an impressive sight.
For Flash of Red February. Also for my mentoring group - B&W landscape.
Many thanks for your great comments and Favs on yesterday's shots both of which appeared on the PP.
Pam, as I sit here working on an urban landscape, I find I'm so envious of your surroundings! This is stunning -- great b&w textures, leading line from the road, great sky. I might try cropping up so that the road on the right comes in from the lower right corner, but no other suggestions.
Stunning landscape Pam, and what a marvellous viaduct. I'm green with envy that you've got something like that in your 'back-yard'. What incredible engineers those Victorians were to build magnificent viaducts like this one. I taught Industrial Revolution for many years at Deakin Uni, and was always absolutely fascinated by the whole of the 'Railway Age' and its impact on the whole of British economy and society.
I love viaducts. I used to live near the one in Balcombe (in West Sussex, in the UK) and often went walking under it. Your pov here shows how long this one is.
@dibzgreasley I used to live in Redhill Surrey Debs and often drove down to the Balcombe Viaduct. I loved it there!! I do miss some of the photo opportunities I used to have in Surrey and Sussex.
Another B&W landscape for your comments if you have time.
