We took Finlay to Irchester Country Park this morning so that we could walk through the woods in the shade and try to keep Finlay cool.
The air was full of dragonflies on the hunt but it was almost impossible to get a shot of one. At a small pond I was trying for a flight shot when I spotted this Ruddy Darter down below me. What a wonderful colour he is.

Excellent shot. Saw one of these on our pond last week, tried to get up close and it tried to lay an egg on my boot. Needless to say I didn't have my camera with me.
