2017 02 19 - The arches

Another image from Castle Ashby. These arches are in the formal garden - so many interesting areas to photograph.

Best on black. For Flash of Red February

Many thanks for your great comments on yesterday's images - very much appreciated!!
Perfect processing!! It fits the idea of an ancient structure that we can still visit today.

I love your POV and this is beautiful in black and white. I like the lighter edges bordering the photo.

Fabulous, I love photos that you look into rather than just at if you know what I mean. In this shot I feel as though I am walking right into the picture.

Beautiful

This TOTALLY has the wow factor going for it!!! Is this the same processing you used for the Wedding Cake House in L'burg? I really love it as it's so like a fine pencil sketch (but not like ANY of the pencil sketch processes I've tried!) Fantastic!

@Weezilou thanks so much Louise! Yes this again is using Topaz Special effects with an antique filter which gives it the faded look and the light vignette. It is useful to focus the eye on the centre of the shot and block out the edges which may be a bit off. Back in LR I increase the blacks a little and up contrast a tad.

Wow...thanks for the info. I keep thinking I don't need Topaz Effects, but when I see this and the NS house, I'd download it for that one app alone! I really love it! Again, your photo is amazing and absolutely beautiful!

This precessing is so pleasing to my eye (and yours as well, I'm sure), I can see you doing a series of architectural photos of a place, rendering them in this fashion and grouping 4-6 on a wall. It would be gorgeous!

IMHO, of course!
