Purple flowers

As we walked in the country park today we saw this beautiful purple patch of flowers. We both said "how beautiful" and at the same time said "weeds of course". Not sure what the definition of a weed is but I think they look gorgeous especially with the bullrushes right behind them.

They're are called purple loosestrife and they're really pretty- wild flowers not weeds!

It doesn't matter if weed or flower, moth or butterfly, purebred or mutt...if you think it is pretty, it's PRETTY! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and we should all look for more beauty!

I think the working definition of a weed is 'a plant growing in the wrong place'. Gives lots of wiggle-room for people like you 'n me unless it's really noxious.

I agree with Marnie, and think a weed is just a plant growing in the wrong place. Here, Lantana is considered a weed, but the flowers are beautiful.
