I decide to knit a scarf. I haven’t knitted for years and it was like starting from new. I cast on 120 stitches which I now realise is too many for a scarf! I have just finished the first ball of wool and it measures 27 inches wide and 15 inches long. I have 5 more balls of wool. I was thinking if I carry on and knit 3 balls and cast off then repeat the whole thing so I have 2 lengths which I could sew together as a throw. Does this make sense? Any other ideas? I have really enjoyed the knitting so far! Very basic I know as it is just garter stitch. You have to start somewhere! Lol!
It must be a winter thing - I felt the urge to pick up needles after many, many years a few weeks ago, but couldn't find my long lost needles! May buy some and rekindle the knitting hobby!
It's so relaxing! You've done a great job! It's beautiful! I haven't attempted a blanket but have done many scarves... with only one being the right size.
Lovely colours.. and does sound more like a shawl than a scarf. I have had a burst with the knitting this winter and are on my 5th jersey now if varing sizes.. pleased the big chunky style are back in vogue... enjoy
Great composition and tones, and a beautiful color scheme for you 'throw'. I also like @maggiemae 's idea of a poncho -- would be great for winter and you could want around with it on to stay warm.
Beautiful!. I tried knitting the I was young. Everything came out lopsided, so I decided knitting was not for me. I'm always impressed with people who can make their stitches even
