Blackbird looking for food

Still using some snow images even though the snow has thankfully now all gone. The snow wasn't too bad it was when the temperature plummeted and it became ice - very dangerous!! I couldn't get my car out until yesterday.

This is the male blackbird - very different to the female who is a dull brown. It is so unusual to see a blackbird on the feeder as they are ground feeders. He couldn't manage to get any food out of the feeder so I cleared a space on the ground and put some food down for him.

I always feel so sorry for birds in winter, it must be so difficult for them to find food and the temperatures are so low.

@taffy thankfully all gone now! Hope it stays that way! It was beautiful to look at but when the temperature went down to minus 13 it all froze and was so dangerous to walk, couldn’t get my car out for 4 days!
