Big Ben is chiming and the fireworks are on the TV. George was hiding from all the noise of the fireworks and then decided to attack Finlay for no reason! Here we go again in 2019 - no change! Lol!

@judithdeacon if only Judith! Most of the time they are fine but suddenly out of the blue they will go for each other - mostly horrible noise! I am hoping George will grow out of it! Hope it’s not wishful thinking! Lol!

We saw that you had rung in the new year already, on the news ~ Jim asked if it was Big Ben as we knew it has been worked on recently - It was beautiful and wonderful to both see and hear! @elatedpixie yes they are still working on Big Ben and we are not hearing the bells at the moment. Just for NYE they had one face (of the four) of the clock showing and they set the dongs off electronically ( a guy did explain but I obviously wasn’t listening closely! Lol! ) the smaller bells have had the clappers taken out for repair so there was no peal of bells before the big bell did the 12 dongs. It will be some time before the work on Big Ben is finished but they just had to have the New Year rung in. Hope this makes sense?
@pamknowler it does, thank you! I did see the scaffolding still in place. So much history. It’s wonderful to see the restoration taking place. I envy you, living amongst all that amazing history! We’ve talked about moving but I was told by a woman who was here for a time, that I would not like the weather! Ironically, she didn’t even know what I do or don’t like! I will share with my hubs about Big Ben. Thank you again!
