I thought this beautiful pink Derbyshire sky was a lovely finish to my rainbow month.
This was taken on Friday morning when I drove over to Reepsmoor, where Simon lives, in the hope of seeing a barn owl which they see most days and also hares which they see every day in the surrounding fields. Of course the barn owl was a no show and although I did see hares they were too far away for good photos although I may be able to use my shots in some way.
It didn't really matter about the animals as I stood in the field for over an hour watching the sun rise with a slight inversion in the valley. There were curlews flying overhead calling to each other and robins and many other birds singing away as the sun rose. It really was a magical experience and was just what I needed!!
We don't always see what we hoped for but there is always something in nature to bring a smile to your face. Sometimes it's good to take the camera away from your face and really watch what is going on around us.
Best on black
Many thanks for your great comments on my owl shot - so pleased you liked it!!
A beautiful composition
