We had a lovely day today driving round London going down memory lane. My nephew Colin did the driving which was such a treat for me and allowed me to take quick iPhone shots out of the car window.
This is the Tower of London with the top of the Shard behind peeping out of the fog. I love driving through the City of London as this is where I worked all my working life. The skyline has changed so much since I left work and there are some fabulous buildings added to the existing fabulous architecture.
From the city we drove to Nunhead, Peckham where I was born and we popped into our favourite bakers Ayers ( such a fabulous selection of bread and cakes). We took our goodies to Peckham Rye Park and had our picnic lunch with coffee. Lovely to see so many people in the park - wonderful memories of our childhood when we spent many hours in the park.
We drove to Honour Oak Park where I had my first flat and then on to Dulwhich Village. A lovely tour of our youth - so much has changed some not for the better.
It was great to visit but I would not like to live in London again - even if I could afford it - too many cars and too many people.
I do the driving all the time and my friends take the shots with their Iphones. Oh how I wish someone else could drive once. BUt I have been adept at finding roads with little or no traffic where I can pull over to take a photo. BUt that wouldn't work in the city.
