13th May 2014 - The triffids are coming!! by pamknowler

13th May 2014 - The triffids are coming!!

I took lots of shots when we went to Skegness last Friday and I am using a couple more today. These are some of the many wind turbines which are out at sea - it is a huge windfarm. It was such a windy day but the blades were hardly moving. They made me think of the triffids - is that showing my age?

Looks best on black.

Many thanks for your lovely comments and Favs on yesterday's goldfinch shot - very much appreciated!!
Nice composition and leading lines :-)

Great shot - the perspective makes them almost look like they are going to tangle with each other.

Such a cool shot!! I know that France has a lot of windmill fields -- I've seen them from the train -- and hope to be able to find one this tie around.

Super processing for this. I wish a lot more places would get going on sea find farms. They turn off at certain high wind speeds.

Fantastic and unusual capture, fav. I agree about the triffids. I don't usually like science fiction but I did enjoy John Wyndham's books when i read some of them years ago. I guess i'm showing my age too!

I love how the choppiness of the water really mirrors the angularity and severity of the windmills. You've done a fantastic job processing as well, it really adds to the energy and edginess of the photo.
