What a glorious dining room! The table was dressed beautifully with fabulous silver candlesticks and other table ware. Such a shame the other people got in on my shot!! It was impossible to get a clear shot!!
As always it does look best large against black.
Uploaded for my alternate album
I spent today with Simon Watkinson a Pro landscape/Portrait photographer who I have been on a few courses with over the years. We covered lots of different subjects and I had a few "lightbulb" moments!! It does you good to have a refresher follow up course as you normally have lots more questions than when you were a complete novice!! One of the most interesting things we went over was using Live View when taking landscapes and using an App on the Iphone to work out hypofocal distance. I just have to put it all into practice!! I feel brain dead this evening. My last night in the cottage - home early in the morning. I have missed my lovely Finlay!!
What an amazing dining room, I don't think the people make a difference. Thanks for sharing these Pam, I would like to visit myself one day. Is this a National Trust place? Your day with the photographer sounds great. I am hopeless with the hyper focal distance. What is the app he suggested?
@elaine55 Thanks Elaine Chatsworth is a wonderful and well worth a visit. Not National Trust - it is owned by the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. The other lovely house to visit is Woburn which is stunning - fabulous collections of porcelaine. The App for Hyperfocal distance is Simple Dof - not the free one - I paid £1.49 for it I think. You have to put in the details of your camera. It all looked quite easy when Simon showed me - i need to try it out. There was a web site he recommended for sunrise/sunset - www.suncalc.net. Not sure if that's of any use for you.
@pixiemac Woburn is fabuluous Sarah! Haven't been for years but I can remember being blown away by it. I'm off to Yorkshire on Friday so hoping to practice using Live view with the landscapes.
