I like this effect with the fisheye lens but a warning - you have to be careful you have the horizon straight. Mine was slightly off and when I straightened it I lost a tiny bit of the circle top and bottom. I am learning something new every time I use the fisheye. Also not sure why you get the blue line around the outside of the circle? Something to do with the distorted light perhaps? Good to try something different.
As you can see Finlay was not interested in posing for me - too many wonderful doggy smells to investigate. It takes us ages to walk round the park as he has to sniff every blade of grass!! There were also lots of mole hills on the grassy banks of the lake and Finlay had to pee on every one of them!! Only another dog owner will understand!! LOL!!
Fascinating about keeping that circle complete! Now this image works perfectly! It's really gorgeous! I have a series of vignette present, one that leaves a circle like this. How did you decide to use this format? Back in Chicago, I saw Sarah used one like this and it's so effective!
@Weezilou I did a few like this in Chicago and have also used it at Chatsworth House with great results. Those were architectural shots and I just thought I would try it out on a landscape. You just take off the lens hood and you get the perfect circle. You can see through the viewfinder what it will look like. But I did get the horizon slightly off and had to straighten in LR and lost the top and bottom of the circle. Worth trying again I think.
@pamknowler Thanks, Pam! I'm *just about to* upload some photos from the yard with the crystal ball...the ducks were quite cooperative. Most amazingly, I actually captured them as they took off...best image I've ever gotten of them in flight! Curius to see how it all translates when I see it on the big screen! Thanks for the inspiration!
