Dragonfly laying eggs

So wonderful to see so many dragons today on my walk with Rosie @rosiekind. They were laying their eggs in the water - fascinating to see.

Best on black

Uploaded for my extras album
Could be a beautiful illustration for a natural world book, very fine lines!

Really hard to capture. What settings did you have your camera on? Your exif does not say. Lovely set.

@callymazoo thanks Cally. I had my 1.4x extender on my 100-400mm lens so the focal length was 560mm. The extender meant I could only get down to F8 which I would not normally use when trying for flight shots. ISO 6400
I am trying the extender out and I like the extra distance but it makes my Canon5D Mark 111 so heavy. Definitely not a walk around lens - the 100-400mm is bad enough on its own! All images have very tight crop!
