Extras - Peeping- sadly Finlay caught him!

This baby blackbird must have nine lives!! Last night Finlay caught it as it was sitting right outside our back door. I got Finlay to "leave" and the bird jumped the step and went into the kitchen. I had both boys on their leads as it was 11pm and time for their last garden visit. I left my sister to catch the baby bird with a dustpan and brush. I put the little bird at the top of the garden behind a little fence thinking that would keep it safe from the boys.
As I was sitting in the lounge I caught a movement and saw this little face looking through the window. The parents are continuing to feed the baby with worms and mealworms. I am going to try to keep the boys indoors unless they are on their leads until Saturday morning when we leave for Devon.
The baby will be on its own I'm afraid if the black cat comes to call!! Hurry up and learn to fly!!

Yes the window has muddy footprints on it - I wonder who the culprit is? LOL!!
Too sweet

@pamknowler Aw, so sorry! I hope they get wise to him and stop building nests in your garden.......though it is so nice to have them there. Catch 22, eh?

@casablanca what a shame they didn’t wait until next week before they fledged!

Oh no, poor babies. Nature is not sentimental, as I heard once in a nature documentary, but I am.
