In a world where more people die of overeating than starvation, education and program's like Michelle Obama's "let's Move" are increasingly vital. So it is funny and sad to find these tributes to the athletes of the Olympics in McDonalds. Spongebob was created by a marine Biology Student here at Humboldt State University, as he doodled in his notebooks during lectures. I loved this pre-opening ceremony moment with the First Lady, David Beckham and Spongebob. http://www.upi.com/blog/2012/07/27/Michelle-Obama-bends-it-like-Beckham-scores-against-SpongeBob-VIDEO/6591343414854/
That was an awesome link! You know anything can be overdone including treating your kids to MacDonald's. Most young moms I know don't take they're kids there. It's the ones who have to take their tweens and teens to practice, games and other extra curicular activities. I don't know too many families that actually sit down and have a meal together anymore. So, it might not be actually what's eaten, it's when and why.
I was wondering why the only food outlets at the Olympics is Makkers. Seems to be a contradiction there somewhere. Although my son gets his lunch there (he is working at the Olympics)
ugh! i like that the boys have now gone past spongebob squarebrief. i never liked that cartoon but they used to love it. now it's young jack and little ivy. oh well. you got a nice colourful picture.
I agree, Dixie - fast food and a healthy lifestyle don't usually go hand in hand. I teach 5th graders, and so many of them are already overweight, They tell me about all the fast food and junk food they eat, and all the hours they spend in front of their video games! Thanks for the links - they're great!
Great shot, Dixie. I agree with you, fast food and health don't mix. good for Michelle Obama. It's about time someone tried to educate kids in a friendly way.
