Apples off a Tree by pandorasecho

Apples off a Tree

The apple trees in my neighborhood get used by man and bear, but then they are still full. I get to be thankful for their abundance, and for apple pies

I love Audrey Hepburn, Rain and apples and the day was meant to be Thankful for Nature. She was a force of Nature as the following quote shows

There is more to sex appeal than just measurements. I don't need a bedroom to prove my womanliness. I can convey just as much sex appeal, picking apples off a tree or standing in the rain.
Audrey Hepburn
That tree is really loaded. Should make lots of good pies. I love your the quote by Audrey Hepburn.

That's quite a lot of apples! How nice to be able to help yourself straight from the tree!

Very cool! We used to race the bears for the raspberries every year, it was like insult to injury to find all the berries gone AND a big bear turd filled with seeds, like they were saying "Hahaha, loser!"

@scrappy Yeah, seriously the bear scat looks like applesauce with peels and seeds still in it.

Another Audrey Hepburn fan!!!!!!!! My daughter, Holly was named after Holly Golightly. Not so much for the character but for Audrey Hepburn and her acting performance. She was one special lady I have always admired. Oh yes, I recently heard bears are vegetarians so I bet they love your apples. Cool photo, Dixie!

@cimes1 They are not what I'd call vegetarian but they change by season and what they will need. Here, just as the salmon fill the rivers, they turn into fishers, and they catch them bt eat only the skin and belly and fat layer because they have to eat a lot before winter. The fish carcasses they abandon, fertilize the redwood trees, and now with less fish and bears a lot of the redwood crowns are yellowish and depleted a bit. In the spring bears wake and tear into roots and grubs and termite mounds. They are as omnivorous as humans and just as easy to addict to junky sugar foods

audrey hepburn was not just a pretty face; clever woman, as well. would you believe it? i've never been to an apple farm, never gone apple picking. i went one year with my sister and her family strawberry picking and another we went to pick blueberries. but never been to an apple orchard or peach orchard. i think for photography's sake, i must put that in my bucket list for 2013. that tree is rife with fruits! just need a ladder and a bucket and pick all the hand can reach. nice capture.
