Today I looked at the challenge of finding one last family tradition for thankful4 November and realized it is time to write the annual Christmas Card and take the Family picture as I have done every year since 1987 when my husband and I were Students in Beijing and I wrote and doodled it by hand.
I am very thankful now for the easiest record. What Year did I get Injured, When did we go to Your Mom's house last, How old were the kids when . . .? the questions are all answered in these and if the house burned I know the record is safe at my moms and some friends who tell me they keep them and treasure them too.
BTW, I love adding people to the mailing list when I make new friends but I never take people off, If you are one of my friends here and want a snail mail holiday greeting, email me an address at dixiedoodle44@charter.net
Very cool! I have a penpal whom I share postcards with. It's fun to get something that is not a bill in the mail. I also keep notes all over my calendars and have them for the last 25 years. It's fun to flip through them.
I used to do that and still have all the letters. They are fun to read and remember how it was 'back then.' Are you on Facebook? I check that more than e-mail these days.
@pandorasecho Great ... I just sent a friend request and will look fwd to your holiday greeting. I need to get busy and start making some memory gifts myself!
i have an uncle who likes to send a 'newsletter' like letter to us. once, my sister and i made a newsletter for the clan but we only did it that one year. everyone wanted their stories in, and we ended up with 20 pages - that's not a newsletter anymore, it's a tome! you are so like my mother, she kept all those wonderful mementoes from everyone who mattered to her. i wish i had rescued them from the hellbitch who calls herself my father's wife.
It's time for me to write my Christmas letter too! Yours look delightful- and I've kept most of mine too. I didn't consistently write them for a while, sometimes I just sent cards. But now it's all I send! I wrote myself a note to send you a request- and if you want the "LeFevre Year in Review" in return, just let me know!
