In Hot Springs, South Dakota, there is a hot water river that flows through a swimming pool and waterslide park called Evans plunge. In the late 1890s, my great grandparents spent their honeymoon there this painting is based on a trip 15 years ago with my husband and sons. I thought my boys were so big because they could swing from ring to ring across the river, which is concrete lined walls, but the floor of it is unfinished riverbed with large agate and quartz stones. Now looking at the old videos and photographs. They look so much younger than the bearded man who are raising my grandchildren.
