Victim of the rain

the old plum tree did not resist to the heavy rain.
Too bad it didn't make it.

What a shame! And the poor little birds have lost their home too.

oh so..sad..so real..
August 17th, 2010
Aww thats a shame. Nice capture though :)
August 17th, 2010
Oh no so sad. It looks like it was a few years old too.
August 17th, 2010
That is sad ... and I wonder how many other trees rot due to the weather and can't make it.

Poor birdies in the birdhouse (I'm not sure birdhouse is correct english).
August 17th, 2010
what a shame!

What a shame and a loss. I'm sur eit had a lot of character.
August 17th, 2010
What a shame to lose such a beautiful tree.
August 17th, 2010
This is a LOVELY shot!
August 17th, 2010
We lost a cherry tree like that once. But it was very old. This looks like a healthy tree.

Such a sad sight. You must have had a lot of rain where you are. Here, it's not too bad. Just a bit of sea mist and drizzle. Hope the holidays are good!

Mother Nature is a strict parent. Sometimes these trees come down. I am sad for the owl box though. I hope it was unoccupied at the time.

Holy Tree Tops, Batman! That was one powerful storm. You must have had a lot of wind, too. Nice photo - shows the loss of such a magnificent tree to all of nature.
August 17th, 2010
What a shame ..hate to see trees down and this one has a birds house on it too. hope it was empty.
August 17th, 2010
PS On the plus side, it will make it a lot easier now to pick those plums!
August 17th, 2010
Good capture of this event on the plus side. Loss of home for birds on the negative side.
August 17th, 2010
Oh, poor tree!
August 17th, 2010
I sympathize. I saw in the local paper today that our metropolitan area has lost 120 trees in the recent stormy weather of the past 3 Thursdays. It is so sad to see a tree that has stood for generations topple in an instant.

i hate to see this also, such a waste. plant another as son as you can.
August 17th, 2010
That's a shame. From the size of the trunk it looks like it had been around for a long time, too. :(
August 18th, 2010
that poor tree =(
August 18th, 2010
Thank you all for your nice messages. The birdhouse was empty and the tree was full of plums... a tart or marmelade will be made today! And we feel very sad too, it was an old but beautiful tree...
August 18th, 2010
Sad that the tree fell. It does look like it was a health tree. Enjoy your tart or marmalade.
August 18th, 2010

August 18th, 2010

August 18th, 2010
