White Bud by pasadenarose

White Bud

These little buds weren't really much to look at and I almost passed them by in search of something better. Glad I stopped for some shots before moving on.
Nice focus. I'm looking forward to seeing your camera on the 26th.

Very pretty, lovely details! Like feathers on an exotic bird. Amazing what one can stumble on when stopping to look for a moment. :)

@webfoot ROFL! Ooooo, Ahhhhh. Prepare to be impressed. ;-) You can click on the camera link and see my dinky pocket camera. The cool thing is it does have quite a few settings...and it fits in my pocket. :-)

@reva Thank you. Now that you mention birds, I do see that. I zoomed in on it after I posted (beyond the large view on 365), and there is a LOT of fuzzy detail around the base of the bud. It's really quite hairy.

Thank you so much. I was pretty darned happy with the way this one came out. Not often I can say that. LOL

@kathyladley @girlie
Thanks so much for the Favs! :-) Glad you liked it.

@pasadenarose @reva @kathyladley Sticking my neck out here, but I think it's probably a white dahlia bud.

I've always thought dahlias were a larger flower, but after Google-ing, I see that they can be as small as 2 inches. This one seems a bit smaller, but at the time I was there, I wasn't exactly trying to estimate bloom size. ;-)
I'll give it a closer look next time I'm there. Thanks for clearing up the mystery. :-)

@pasadenarose Sorry, I meant white Zinnia bud (I'm always confusing the two). If you Google unopened zinnia buds and look up images, you'll see similar markings on the unopened buds.
