I headed downtown for some urban shooting today, and spent some time wandering the grounds of Disney Concert Hall. Even though I have other shots that give a clearer picture of the architecture, I liked the way the shadows and light played on the surfaces in this one. It's a color shot, SOOC. You can just make out a little blue sky at the top.
@kathyladley
Oh, yes!! Thank you for asking. :-)
I've just completely and totally lost all motivation to post my last few photos. And I've hardly picked up my camera since I took my last shot to finish my project.
I guess I got so burned out with the shot-a-day routine, that I don't want to deal with it right now. Don't even want to edit my last shots to get them posted. Bleh!
I know I have to get it done at some point, and I WILL. I really will. It does feel good to take a break, though.
Just checked in with you to find out if you are OK, and saw the post above. I know what you mean about losing inspiration and motivation, I did the same thing last month but have got my mojo back now and am enjoying it. Really hope you come back to us!!! By the way, this is a fantastic shot. Well worth a big fat fav!!
@jantan@kathyladley
Happy New Year, ladies!!
I have the Rose Parade on also. Funny, this year I hardly even thought about all the pre-parade activities unless I happened to come across something while driving around town.
I keep TRYING to get my photo-groove back, but it seems more a burden than a joy right now. I WILL come back though, I promise. Hopefully soon. :-)
@pasadenarose I understand I now take photos at a much more slower pace and it feels better. The pressure of daily captures were trying sometimes. It is good to take a break.
But....the reason taking photos is so important is you are more aware of what is around you. like the Rose Parade!!! I really learned so much for you. I know Pasadena is not nearly as exciting now as it was when you were chasing photo subjects in your car and in the park. Haha! The lizards are lonely too. I know you are missed around town as well as here. Happy New Year!
Rose, I was just going through my husbands project where he posted my daily progress after my accident and i loved reading all your responses. It made me realize I miss your great photography and fun sense of humor! Your care and concern as well as your prayers meant so much to me and I just wanted you to know you are missed.
@grammyn
I beg forgiveness for not responding sooner. I'm such a slug. LOL
I do hope that you are feeling well and that you've made a complete recovery from last year's (mis)adventure. Your husband's photo diary was a wonderful way to mark your progress, and to keep all of us in the loop regarding your recovery. You got a really good guy there. *thumbs up*
Gosh, it is so weird to be back on this site, I've been gone for SO long. Here's hoping that your last note has given me the nudge I need to get off my lazy tush and make a proper re-entry. I haven't picked up my camera in months. :-(
See you soon....hopefully. It's so nice to be missed. ;-)
@pasadenarose Can't wait to see what you come up with! I have backed way off from the pressure and post only one a day unless the mood strikes me to do more! I comment n others most of the time but if I miss I don't beat myself up like I used to either! Much more laid back. I guess almost dying twice will do that to a girl! ;~}
@pasadenarose I miss you too. It has been so long. I saw your comment on Katy's project. I could not live without my camera. I love taking photos.I do not post or comment on a regular basis but I am still here. I hope you will post something or continue popping in. Take care.
@darsphotos
Oh, gee...I'm feeling a bit guilty now that I've peeked back in here. I really do miss this place, although I just don't seem to have the time to properly browse through the wonderful photos.
I'm doing fine, although my computer is another story. My desktop died, so I had to resort to using a hand-me-down laptop. (I'm not familiar with laptops). Well, it turned out that the hand-me-down laptop came with a hand-me-down virus attached. That all seems to be sorted out now, but I'm not sure if I had a complete backup of my photos from my desktop. Haven't even tried to retrieve them yet.
I fear that I will be resorting to starting all over again on Jan 1. Sigh. ;-)
It's probably best anyway, since I got so far behind.
Thanks for checking on me. I hope you (and your duckies) are doing well also.
@pasadenarose It is hard to stay away, isn't it. It takes so much time to do what others do so easily it seems. I do what I can do. I am glad you are doing ok and so happy you replied to me. So many are just gone. Sorry about your desktop. Oh, no, not a virus on the laptop. Wow, I hope you had your photos backed up ok. I have an external hard drive and backup my desktop to that and another external hard drive for photos only so two backups of my photos plus they are on my desktop. I am behind as well though keep trying to come back as much as I can. Then I run across your name and others that have not posted in a while and check to see how you are doing. I am having some vascular problems and not supposed to sit at my desktop with my legs down much at all. Trying to figure out how to use my old laptop on a table thing on my recliner/rocker so there is no weight on my legs. Went to the park for the first time in a while this past Sunday. Was nice to be there with what is left of the ducks and geese. So sad that so many disappeared. I have been walking as I have to so that my legs pump blood better. This is new to me. Glad in a way that our weather has been good to walk though we need the rain desperately. They just made it mandatory that those in Sacramento City can only water yards on Sat or Sun, so only once a week. We are on 3 days a week here in Elk Grove. I hope we get a lot of rain in the coming months. I hope your photos are ok and so glad to hear back from you. I will check in again and see how you are doing. Take care.
