Lucknam Park Drive by pasttheirprime

Lucknam Park Drive

Yesterday saw me dropping my Good Lady at Lucknam Park to take part in a days chef experience at their cookery school. The country hotel is set in superb grounds, this photo being the main drive up to the house.

Rather than risk churning up the grass with the Landrover, I briefly abandoned it on the tarmac, jumped out and took this 5x2 shot pano. I had to bump the ISO up a couple of stops (ISO400, I believe) to cater for the natural shade provided by the trees.

Unfortunately I only got one take on this before hotel guests drove up behind me. Given more time and a tripod, this would have been far sharper...

I also suspect that during Golden Hour, those long shadows across the drive combined with glorious light tones would just look superb... I may return!

How the other half live, eh?!

Beautiful

Strong leading line in the pathway -- and the greens look strong (I find greens hard to capture well).

Marvelous dof and mysterious, I am intrigued by what's at the end.
