Tealby Lone Tree edit-2

I posted this for yesterdays post and said I wasn't very happy with it. I had tried to give it a b&w treatment but it just didn't work. I was mulling things over this pm while the kids were all out and suddenly remember an editing soft ware called Silver Efex Pro. I'm sure I've seen it mentioned on here before. Anyway, I thought, with it being free to download, I'd give it a go. This was the first image I tried. I ran it through the software, added a boarder and I have to say I'm really liking it now. I think this new program is going to make b&w a lot of fun! Can't wait to really get cracking on i
Oh made a note of that editing programme...love this lonesome..

a few things here, i like the B&W version way better than the color. i use silver efex pro2, its part of that google nik collection. dont be afraid to try the analog efex pro2. there are some very cool features to make your photos look ancient!

Careful with Silver Efex - very easy to oversharpen using it. Its good but it has its downside. We tried it but have stopped using it , Like all things its good in moderation but don't get carried away! I do like this very much though!

The processing has shown up all the textures in the tree. I like the tone too.

I use Nik collection a lot. It wasn't free though when I got it, cost me £80.
I like this B&W version.

@joansmor Yup
@yorkshirekiwi Thank you, me too :)
@dorsethelen Thanks for the advice Helen. I'll give it a blast and see what works and what doesn't, then go from there :)
@leananiemand Thank you very much :)
@megpicatilly Thank you :)
@wag864 Thank you. It's quite exciting having a new toy to play around with :)
@gamelee Thank you. I saw google were refunding if users bought it in 2016. Don't know if that helps :)

Lovely picture Paul, but I think the white border detracts from it when viewing it in black 🙂

Cheers Paul, unfortunately I bought it in 2015.
