Shipwrecked

So I've been really struggling for motivation lately, and as a result my project (and photography in general) has suffered. There have been times when I've gone out and not pulled my camera from my bag, and times when I've taken an image and been so disappointed with my final results I've just not bothered doing anything with them. It's something I'm sure we'll all go through from time to time - it's part of our creative learning, but I just wanted to let you all know I haven't, nor am, hanging up my camera anytime soon. Anyway, a chance remark from my dad while out walking our boys on the beach on Saturday morning led Helen and I to a little mid-Sunday morning excursion to Goxhill and a long forgotten old boat. I wasn't sure exactly where we were going (not sure our sat-nav was completely sure either) but after a drive and a short walk we found the old treasure. And as you can see, she didn't disappoint. She is a beautiful old boat in a sad abandoned way. This was my favourite shot of the two that I took and I'm actually really rather happy with the final result. But I will be going back as I'm not done with the old girl yet, and I'm feeling enthused again. Not posting every day, though I will be commenting more regular. Year two of my project finished about two weeks or so ago with a bit of a whimper, so for now my posting will be hit and miss until May when I plan on starting year three and doing it properly this time :)
This is Fabulous! Sadly I can only fav it once:)

What a wonderful shot with great composition- and beautiful processing!
A FAV!
I know what you mean about motivation. It happens to all of us every so often. I find that life gets so hectic at times that I do not have the proper time to devote to photography and then it gets frustrating.
So, at that point, I back off. It has to remain fun and enjoyable and never a chore.

Great shot, love the composition. I really struggle to post every day, and don’t!! Love to see them when they appear.

I don't have a lot of phojo right only getting out occasionally. I use a lot of previously taken shots in my project . I am glad you are staying. I have an old boat in my unposted shots. Not as big as this.

Fab shot Paul - don't feel guilty, the idea is to enjoy your photography so we won't string you up for not producing a pic a day 😘
April 16th, 2018
Oh I like this photo a lot! I am trying to dust off my camera and get back into my project too. I have had a few false starts though.
April 16th, 2018
Super shot Paul, yes you are right .Io rough stages when I can't be bothered and look at my shots and they are just not worth posting . Hopefully the start of spring and good light will lift your spirits and you will be back out there taking some lovely photographs again

Wow! Really great!

Super image you have done this old lady of the sea proud.
Know what you mean about being in a slump. At the end of last year I really struggled and when the new year came I only intended posting occasionally as due to health problems and other commitments I was limited on time, but I somehow found a renewed boost and so far am still posting every day. Hope your phojo comes back soon but so glad you are still posting occasionally.

Got to fav this image it is fabulous.

amazing find! We all have to reboot from time to time. I congratulate you on the end of one more year on the project! You have a wonderful sense of style and ability to see beauty in the world around you! Sincerely glad your commentary!

an instant and easy fav, great processing and detail.

Fantastic image Paul. I completely sympathise! My phojo has taken a dive the past wee while, and I am attempting to jump start, although the weather isn't helping much. Looking forward to May and your new chapter.

Very nice, love the detail and composition :)

My kind of shot. Fave. I struggle with photography motivation and seem to often ask myself "right where shall I go" then end up going nowhere. My wife doesn't share my enthusiasm for photography so I'm usually on my own wherever I go, which I don't mind as I can stop and take my time. I look forward to seeing your inspirational images Paul.

This is a fabulous shot! Great in b&w. Makes me think of pirates drawing ships onto the rocks.
I don’t think the weather has helped lately & I think we all struggle at times.

Wonderful shot, full of texture and decay. Motivation comes and goes - we just ride the waves

@joansmor Thanks Joan -phojo, love that word. Post your boat, I'd love to see it :)
@lyndamcg Thank you and thanks for not stringing me up too. That IS most appreciated :)
@tracys Thanks Tracy. Year two was one big false start for me. Good luck with your new start, we just have to keep on trying :)

@hermann Thank you :)
@gamelee Thanks Lee. I do the same, ask myself where shall I go, only my wife gives me the car keys and says 'Please, go somewhere' :) And I too am a lone photographer which I like, though my wife does sometimes share my adventures, like this one :)
@carole_sandford Thank you Carole, I like your thinking, too. And no, the weather hasn't helped at all has it :)
@elkereturns Thank you. Photography certainly is a journey full of ups and downs :)

@suzanne234 It is a great little find Suzanne. A bit of a bugger to find though and couldn't find anywhere proper to park. Well worth a look. And who knows, we might even bump in to each other one day :)
@dkbarnett Thank you kindly :)
@jodies Thank you. It was well worth the hunt and no, definitely not finished with her yet :)
April 19th, 2018
superb shot and edit, fav. Think we are both in the same boat (see what I did there? Lol!) photographically.
April 19th, 2018
@jesperani I did see what you did there :D And thank you. Maybe we'll pick up again now the sun is shining :)
April 19th, 2018
Stunning B&W. Fav for sure. I know what you mean about toe doldrums at times. I am struggling too at the moment but am determined to keep it up. Work seems to get in the way as well as other things but 365 is a great way to help keep focused (really sorry about the pun - I didn't;t even realised until I typed the last letter).
April 25th, 2018
