Quarry Tree Winter Sun Red Filter ( please view large) by paul2782

Quarry Tree Winter Sun Red Filter ( please view large)

Up very early this morning walked around to disused quarry, (no entry) but ignored signs. The sun was just high enough to hit the trees at the top of the quarry but the area excavated was down to readings of 15 at f5.6 . Blue skies wispy clouds and red filter lead to this almost bleached image. Many more areas to be explored in their but again dreadfully short of time!
Lovely shot Paul. Just looked at it enlarged and it is really whizzo with that sky.

Talk to me about filters. I don't have any filters. What can they do for me? Do I need any filters in particular? I got my DSLR a few months back and have only one lens thus far...a 55-200mm zoom lens. Nice b&w, Paul. I'd love to see a comparison with the shot with and without the red filter.

This cropped up in my suggested list Paul, and luckily it did. Fantastic b&w image, almost IR in appearance due to the filter. Great composition too. Fav'd @paul2782
February 9th, 2013
@ch1ppy_m1nton thank you for your kind words I have in the days of film processed and printed many IR images so use red filter then and now far better than in edit suite ditto IR the IR in edit suite dreadful. Many thanks for the fav really pleased you liked it !
