The aftermath of storm Ciara firemen pumping out the cellar of the Golden Sea Cinese Restaurant in Brighouse, the car park was under 2 feet of water on Sunday the basement was completely under water, when I took this shot the water was 4 feet deep in the cellar thanks to the work of the emergency services, communities along the Calder Valley in West Yorkshire are assessing the damage Calderdale Council said 500 homes and about 400 businesses had been flooded. The area was devastated by flooding at Christmas in 2015 and millions of pounds were invested in flood defences but it didn't protect many of the buildings along the Calder valley,
@ludwigsdiana Thank you Diana for your comment Brighouse was not as badly hit as others along the Calder Valley still roads were closed three large supermarkets were flooded, £70 million has been spent on flood defences since the 2015 Boxing Day floods clearly more is needed:)
@stray_shooter Thanks Ron I was still in Lincoln on Sunday when the floods were at there height plus all the roads into this area of Brighouse were closed by the emergency services as they were impassable:)
