Like many corals, Gorgonians grow in colonies comprising either males or females, although, in some cases, both male and female sea fans can be seen grouped in large coral reefs such as sea fan forests.

Beautiful image. I remember camping on Hook Island in the Whitsundays and the reef was right up to the beach. A magical world just below the surface, amazing thing.
