This is one of the old gates into the medieval walled city of Southampton. A Grade I listed monument, it was erected not long after the Norman invasion of England in 1066 AD.
Anyway, it's now surrounded by all the trappings of the 21st century, and has been made much more interesting by the addition of a neon-lit Ferris Wheel.
This is another phone shot, this time cropped and minimally edited on the phone itself.
Many thanks for all your recent comments, I really appreciate them all.
LOL - One can only laugh at a >900year old monument adorned with a neon lit ferris wheel! Down here we think 200 years is very old - and we may still erect a ferris wheel to help it along!!
