River Medway Series - 3

Another Medway scene for you. Heading upstream from Aylesford (yesterday's shot) the next major structure (aside from motorway bridges) is Allington Lock - which also has a more recent (1937!) sluice/flood barrier. This shot is looking upstream from the flood barrier towards Maidstone town centre.

Many thanks for all your comments over the past few days, all very much appreciated.
Another peaceful scene. I like the river disappearing into the trees.

Lovely view, I especially love the sight of the narrowboat on the left!

Like the small boats lined up on the right, all seeming ready to sail forth. And the duck making a nice horizontal entry.

A lovely scene - it's nice to see a series of shots of an area that I've not yet visited.

The division of the boat is interesting, old at the left new at the right. Nice composition

How lovely - I particularly like the big expanse of empty space in the centre of the image.
