Forgive the screen shot, but I just wanted to remind everyone that London is presently hosting another wonderful festival - probably the greatest classical music festival in the world - The Proms. Started in 1895, the Proms series were designed to bring classical music (in all its forms) to a popular audience with affordable "promenade" seating at one shilling (5p) a ticket.
This particular prom features Le Concert Spiritual, a french orchestra that uses period instruments to give what they feel is an authentic sound to baroque classical music. Here they are playing Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks; these horns are valve-less and dreadfully difficult to play.
Thank you all for your comments and Favs on yesterday's lavender shot - http://365project.org/peadar/extras/2012-08-04 - it reached the popular page and I really appreciate all your support.
And French Horns are the hardest instrument to play - my sister, a consummate composer and performer, had a go in high school. She mastered it to a point just to prove the point, but returned to piano and guitar after that.
Great screen shots. I find it is much easier now with LCD etc TV's as you don't have to keep shutter slower than the 1/60th like you had to do with the older tube sets
@paintdipper Thanks, Junan!
