I took a trip up to town to see the Garden of Remembrance, at Westminster Abbey. Relatives, loved ones and colleagues can buy these little wooden crosses of remembrance and "plant" them in the garden in memory of the fallen of all wars. The crosses are arranged by service and regiment. It is a very moving memorial.
A poignant and touching memorial to all those who have lost lives in wars. The little fallen leaves add to the mood of the photo too, nicely done Peter.
I didn't know about this. Our families are lucky that we didn't lose any members in the Two World Wars though my grandfather was invalided out when they found he had signed up under-age. (he lost a finger - he played the piano).
