100 years on...

On the centenary of Britain's entry into World War 1, these are my paternal grandfather's campaign medals; he served with the 2nd Rifle Brigade. Later I believe he transferred to the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders. I know very little about him; he was killed in a bombing raid on London during the Battle of Britain in the early part of WW2, long before I was born. My maternal grandfather also served in The Great War, with the Welsh Guards. He survived the war and eventually passed away in the 1970s.
Such a proud display

Great shot and what a wonderful keepsake. Sadly I haven't got my father's or grandfather's medals from WW1 and WW2 as they were stolen many years ago.
