Spring Hill by peadar

Spring Hill

Another shot from my morning commute - the appropriately named (for today) Spring Hill, near Fordcombe, Tunbridge Wells. The bridge just ahead crosses the River Medway (featured previously in my many 365 journeys) although at this stage high up its course, it is a large stream rather than the wide commercial waterway further down. The oast house you can see just poking through the trees at mid-left is a typical Kent feature. They were used for drying hops, in the days when Kent was one of the UK's principal areas for beer production.

A lovely way to travel to work, beats motorway driving.

The blue sky and golden fields in the sunlight certainly make for an inviting drive to work (although it does look like they've been sprayed). Lovely.
