This is a real healthy option! Halloumi-stuffed mushrooms, with a salad.
Lightly grill the portabello mushrooms (I didn't have any large ones, so used a few smaller ones), then garnish with onions, garlic and fresh chilli, all chopped and fried for a few minutes in olive oil until soft. Top with as much halloumi as you feel you need, then place back under the grill and leave to cook as desired. The result here took about 5 minutes or so. Delish!
Many thanks for all of your recent comments and support - I really appreciate it.
You are becoming a food photographer! Congratulations on the results of the shot and of the dish. Beautiful DOF. Fav
I have a nonphotographic question for a native English speaker. Have you seen Downton Abbey, the series? If yes, can you tell me if Mrs Hughes has a special local accent? Thanks
@caterina Caterina, I don't think my love of food can mean I am any other type of photographer! Interesting question on Downton. Mrs Hughes' accent is Scottish. Asking an English man about Scottish accents is not something you should do if you ever visit Scotland itself (haha), but in mitigation my father was Scottish. There are, of course, different Scottish accents and dialects (even languages), but I'm reasonably sure Mrs Hughes speaks a "nice" West Coast accent, from the area north-west of Glasgow (think of Fort William, Oban and the Isle of Skye). Hope that helps?
@peadar thank you Pad! I’m glad to hear about mrs Hughes’s accent because I had guessed it (never having been to Scotland myself) all the details on it are also very interesting. I love to watch that series because of the many different accents and expressions quite new to me. In addition the actors are outstanding.
Regarding your photography, far from me to suggest that you are ONLY a food photographer!
@caterina I agree, it's an outstanding series. I can imagine the accents must be quite a hoot. Spoken English tends to be a little more homogenous nowadays (the rise of the glottal stop, also known as "Estuary English"), although you can still hear regional accents in the north, midlands and west. Downton is set in Yorkshire, so most of the folk below stairs speak in a Yorkshire dialect, whereas the family themselves all use various forms of "Received Pronounciation" or "RP", the older members somewhat more severely than the younger (as mirrored in real life). Even listening to recordings of HM Queen in, say 1952, when she acceded to the throne, and now, and you can discern quite a difference, now much softer and less austere. Glad you enjoy the series. 😊
@peadar thank you for your explanations. Of course I cannot pick up all the subtleties that are clear to you. Remember that I learned English in the US. Quite a difference! However, I’ll check the recordings of the queen. Thanks again.
