I snatched an hour today to spend on "my other project". Having modelled the station and goods yard side of the layout, I now need to create a small village scene - a pub, a church, a row of shops and some houses along with a small motor garage. Here I am just laying things out to sense check placement. I'm not taking it too seriously, but I would like the finished model to look fairly practical! The smooth board you see here is just the base, this will get built up with scenic material to make it look a little more realistic. Anyway, at this rate of progress, I may have this finished by, say, Christmas!
