I am always fascinated by rivers and canals that meander through areas which are now major conurbations. Reading is a town that has had more than its fair share of town planning, and the resulting jumble of one-way systems, pedestrianised shopping areas and public transport friendly street architecture makes it a confusing place at best. Through it all, the River Kennet (a tributary of the Thames, and an ancient river course) flows sedately on - seemingly unbothered by the modern goings-on that surround it.
A river always adds something special to a place. Nice shot here with the leading river line, and the building reflecting in it. This spot does look quite serene - or the photographer manages to convey the feeling ;).
