Another dip into "my other project". A recent present from my son was this kit of a reasonably unusual freight wagon from the mid-20th century, a CCT (Covered Carriage Truck) Parcels Van. So, now it is built and I need to tidy it up a bit, paint it to match the prototype, and add a bit of weathering so that it looks less like a model!
These were first introduced to the real network in 1938 and were unusual in that they had sets of doors at each end (as well as on the sides) which meant they could accommodate a wide variety of freight, from small parcels to motor vehicles.
A great railway model. And a lot of joy from the new car. When the son was young, we made the model (TT). Unfortunately, now everything will be dormant in cartons.
