A brief update from "my other project...". I based this layout on the historical track-plan of our local commuter rail station. The "down" platform shown here on the right is still in use, and the covered stairwell to the crossing subway is still there. The goods yard detail is modelled pretty much as it was in the late 19th and early 20th century; nowadays the rails have all been taken up and the area you see here is used as a station car park.
Needless to say, I've written to Santa to see if he can come up with a few goodies for the layout this year...
