This old Victorian house in the neighborhood underwent an extensive renovation a few years ago and has since been rather neglected. The once charming yard and gardens are overgrown to the point you can barely see the house from the street...much less get a decent photo. But, this is all the purple I could come up with today.
Beautiful old house. Yes, I feel like getting in there with my hoe and rake and lawnmower. What a shame their renovations didn't extend to the garden. However, it makes for a lovely photo, peeking through the foliage. Nicely done, Peggy. You've inspired me to go out and look for something purple.
@girlie
I'm with you, Robin. The garden really was beautiful for a while after all the work had been completed. I'm not sure what the story is behind it's decline.
Nice house. I like looking at "painted ladies". My in-laws just moved out of their Victorian, 15 rooms and three floors were just to much for them at their age.
It looks lovely regardless of the overgrowth...funny how people will go through all that trouble to fix a house and then let it get all nasty. It's a bit crazy I think.
It's always a mystery why people do this, but I'm sure in some situations life dictates the priorities around us. Regardless, the house is still a beauty.
Seriously, Cheryl. After all the time, effort and expense the owners put into the renovation, I'm surprised at the way they've let it go.

I'll let you know if it goes on the market, Fiamma! :)
