A shot of my favorite neighborhood restaurant with it's understated holiday look. Aside from the wonderful food, the great thing about this place is that it's only two short blocks from my front door. Urban life still excites me even after living here for almost four years. :)
This looks a great spot! Reminds me of a bar/restaurant I used to go to when I lived in Tempe called Casey Moore's. If you ever visit Tempe, you must go...you would feel right at home! Looks much like this place! Great shot!
I didn't know this place was still around... While I was in college my friends and I used go there every once in a while for special evenings out and things like that. It is very good!
Looks fabulous, Peggy. Near enough to home to be able to walk off the meal in a couple of blocks and no drink-driving problems. What sort of food do they serve here?
@girlie The food is always delicious...the owner/chef is very creative and she always features amazing daily special creations aside from the usual yummy menu - http://www.allmenus.com/nc/charlotte/41818-300-east/menu/dinner/
The desserts aren't listed as they change almost daily...the chocolate creme brulee, pumpkin cheesecake with a caramel pecan glaze, and amazing fruit cobblers are my favs...when I allow myself the extra calories. :)
Love the atmosphere as well...and the ability to walk there in less than five minutes is wonderful.
@southernlights So cool that you are familiar with Charlotte...I'm thinking Queens University alum? Just a guess since it's in the neighborhood of 300 East. The place is still a Dilworth/Myers Park perennial favorite. :)
@katrinacristy I would love to visit AZ again...the only place I've spent any time in Arizona was in Flagstaff ~ which I adore. Would love to see more ~Tempe, Phoenix, Sedona, the Grand Canyon... You live in a beautiful state!
@jgoodridge Thanks, Jeff! Off the menu some of my favorites would have to be the baked French onion soup, sweet potato ravioli, and chocolate creme brulee. But, the daily special creations are fabulous!
@petersonsheri It started out life as a lovely house back in the early 1900's...still has the original fireplaces, old wood floors and staircase. You'd love having this chef as a live in. She makes amazing French onion soup :)
@isisweiss It has a wonderful atmosphere and was once a house...now an Historical Society structure. The menu is actually a more sophisticated type nouveau cuisine. The owner/chef is relatively young and she's very creative.
@peggysirk French onion soup is my favorite! I actually had to take Ashley out to one of our favorite French onion soup restaurants the day before she flew back to Kansas. So YUMMY! Especially with lots of melted cheese on it.
Just had a look at the menu and it has me drooling, I must say. Prices don't look too bad, either. Lots of different food from what I'm used to. Will head there if I ever head over there!
