I finished my volunteer duties at the performing arts center this afternoon and was walking up the street to meet Tom for lunch when I ran into a controversial street corner protest.
I did a little creative adjusting to make this into a remake of the 2002 film "The Weather Underground", which was a movie about political revolutionaries of the 60's and 70's. My 2011 version deals with ordinary citizens who are fed up with frigid temps, unusual amounts of snow and ice, kids home from school for days, and cabin fever. They have become meteorological revolutionaries and are taking their gripes to the street. I'm with you, people!
@metatransitions They were actually protesting a social issue, Mita. I just made it into a weather protest for the sake of the 365 theme. I edited the new text on the signs. :)
Somehow I don't believe you that they were protesting snow...I see some green writing beneath the black letters...you are covering up something Miss Peggy! But it is a great shot!!! :o)
Thanks for commenting, everyone! For anyone not quite sure if these good people were really protesting the weather ~ they were not. I think they were voicing their opinions on property revaluation or something. It was just a wonderful gathering of folks to photograph and make into my own story by changing their signs. :)
Peggy, this is so creative and funny. I love the little "I hate ice" sign squished in there too! Fantastic job with the editing!! I will join them in the protest. It took us four hours to get to the lake house this afternoon instead of the normal two. Snowing again. :(
Awesome shot & creative editing! I feel so bad for everyone with all the snow around the country. As for me, I'll be in my backyard this weekend working on my tan soaking up the rays of the hot sun. ;)
@bluemoon Thanks, Paula! I think we could get a nation wide protest going. :) It's been a long, cold, crazy winter with too much of it left on the calendar.
Love your creativity with the signs!! Send some snow to us in the Denver area. We have only had a handful of days when it snowed this entire winter!! We want to sled.
