I noticed on my calendar of unusual holidays that January 21 is Squirrel Appreciation Day. Who knew...
FYI ~ tomorrow is National Blonde Brownie Day and Sunday is Pie Appreciation Day in case you want to celebrate. :)
LOL! This is a really cute squirrel! I love the long nails and the bit of snow on its nose. Excellent shot Peggy! I don't know where my squirrels have gone. I haven't see a one in weeks. They are always all over the neighborhood all three seasons but winter they disappear. I don't even see them on the trees....where do they go??? It is a mystery I must uncover!!!
Thanks for you comment...Princeton U is a beautiful campus. I want my son to attend but he has his heart set on MIT...I guess my reason is I'd like to keep him close.
What a great shot! So much clear detail of his fur . . . And thanks for the heads-up about the weekend holidays. Will definitely have to procure some goodies and do some food shots. Again, all in the name of the Project! :)
LOL well, we have TONS of squirrels around here constantly raiding my birdseed. Don't think I'll clue them in on today! Great capture of this little guy
Well thanks for the heads up Peggy, I'll be sure to appreciate all my furry little friends today while they're sitting out there emptying all my birdfeeders!! :) Seriously though, this is such an incredibly cute picture but more than than that it's an EXCELLENT capture....the clarity is exquisite! Nice one!
Thanks for the information. Squirrel Appreciation Day could be a holiday where I a as there are no squirrels at all. Seeing squirrels running freely always excite me when visiting other countries. I love the one in your photo. Great capture.
Thanks for the wonderful comments, everyone. Hope you all had a lovely Squirrel Appreciation Day, or SAD, as Graham pointed out. :)
Have a great weekend!!
Wow Peggy!! I knew I would never be able to catch up on comments, but I wanted to check in on my favorite peoples photos, and the first one I came to was this! I am not a big squirrel fan, but this picture was an instant FAV. It's just amazing. The squirrel posed perfectly for you, and the colors and focus are brilliant! Great job my friend.

But the squirrel is giving a round of applause on behalf of all squirrel-kind.
Simply beautiful shot.
This is such a cute shot, Peggy! Love it!
