to fry an egg on the sidewalk. It took about 90 minutes in 98 degree (37C) heat and a few questions from by-passers and neighbors...but it cooked. Some days I obviously have too much time on my hands. :)
This is amazing Peggy !! You actually fried an egg on the pavement, I would never have thought it possible !! It must be so hot there ..did you eat it ? !!!!
Oh Peggy! That's something I have always wanted to see done. Great job - it's 102 here in Richmond. We went to the pool for about 2 hours but all agreed it was just too darn hot.
@happypat Not a chance that I would eat that, Pat! :) I was going to leave it for one of the many dogs being walked in the neighborhood...but I was afraid they might get salmonella or something from an undercooked egg that had been lying in the sun for hours and the ants were beginning to get ideas of their own. So I scooped it up, threw it away and hosed off the sidewalk. :)
Good one, Peggy! I fried one on the roof of our car once when it was 110 and it took only 7 minutes. Sounds, and looks, like you're having a great summer. Can't wait for ours.
This shot tells me that it is TDH...too damn hot. I am going to enjoy every second of crisp fall weather (and then I'll start complaining that it's too cold and I can't wait for summer :)
@lisjam1 If the truth be known, this looks a lot more 'cooked' in the photo after a bit of processing than it did on the sidewalk. The very thin places around the edges did semi-cook but the center of the egg was pretty gooey. I think if I'd left it out another hour or two it might have solidified a little more. Eat it? ~ Not a chance! :)
we're having 101-107, I am not sure how long that would take but yes! you just may have a point about having too much time on your hands! Makes me wanna try it though. >; ) This such a fun shot!
