I was awakened early this morning by the sounds of a cat fight in the 'hood. When I got up to go outside and break things up, I was greeted by three good things...1. It wasn't my cat involved in the beat down, he was curled up in a chair on the porch behaving himself. 2. A cold front has ushered in wonderfully cool and dry air ~ finally some relief from the heat and humidity! 3. Polaris was poised directly over the last quarter moon and I had my photo for today.
I had to do some cropping and heavy fill light to get the North Star to show up, but it's just visible directly over the top tip of the moon. One of these days I'm going to learn how to use the camera attachment on the telescope...or maybe not. In finding my True North I've learned to let go of expectations. :)
