...a little social time between Harper and an 'older' friend following music class. Such a girl thing. :)
Three good things:
1. Spending the morning with Harper and her mommy
2. The blackened grouper I made last night was oh so good...and I don't usually get too excited about fish
3. A rainy night with a good book and a glass of Chardonnay in my immediate future
What a sweet shot. I love the expression on Harper's face; she looks like she's confiding all her happiest secrets to her friend. Isn't it wonderful watching them socialise at this age?
Oh this is gorgeous Peggy. I just love the looks on their faces, the reflection in the mirror, the heart, the dreaminess of the photo - in fact I just love it all! Fav!
You caught such a perfect expression on her face. It's almost like looking in to a magic mirror in to her future and seeing her sharing girl time with her friends at school. Awesome capture Peggy.
Oh how lovely and I love how the reflection tells the other half of the story. Now I'm having to resist opening a bottle of Chardonnay - I'm doing VERY badly with the diet and am actually getting fatter!
Oh Peggy your heart must leap when you see that gorgeous little face full of fun!!! Fabulous focus on the main subject.........this is the sort of thing i want to do with my camera but have completely forgotten all about different focuses.
We had fish tonight but I do think it can be a little boring, the blackened fish sounds like it has much more flavour although I did fry mine.
A good book, could I ask the title, I am reading a rather light weight chick lit which is quite fun but would not recommend as anything special.
A bid fave for your lovely girl.
@happypat The fish is highly seasoned with a Cajun rub of garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, thyme, a little cumin, salt and pepper, and drizzled with melted butter. Then it's blackened quickly in a hot, hot cast iron skillet ~ and served with a Remoulade sauce. All of that definitely takes the boring out of fish. :)
I'm reading The Dog Stars by Peter Heller. It's not my usual kind of read, but I'm transfixed by the storyline and the style of writing. It's a post-apocalyptic setting, good guys vs bad, hope vs despair. Not for everyone, but I'm intrigued by it. Google the reviews and see what you think. Just finished The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce. I really liked that one too. A sweet and touching story.
@peggysirk Sounds delicious Peggy & a little more exciting than the usual bland fish recipe. I do like a little punch to my meals these days!!
I will check out those books on my Kindle , thank Peggy. Have you ever come across a book called Carry the One by Carol Anshaw, it is supposed to have been very popular in the USA.
Oh Peggy - this is a fave - it takes me back to my childhood besties and the closeness of girlfriends...and I saw this in my two daughters too ...you captured it so well. I can hear the twittering and giggles...
