Holy week

I think that I should post this pic as a show of what Holy Week is in Spain. Holy Week in Spain is the annual commemoration of the Passion of Jesus Christ celebrated by Catholic religious brotherhoods and fraternities that perform penance processions on the streets of almost every Spanish city and town during the last week of Lent, the week immediately before Easter.
Looks like Ku Klux Klan, but isn't it xD Trust me. During this week you can see gorgeus representations about the life of Jesus Christ.

I went to Spain back in '99 or '98. Either way I loved Holy Week. The smells were to die for! I still have my map although the pictures are gone (our luggage was stolen). This picture reminds me of the smell...and the food.

@petaqui I went for history and architecture. The food was just a bonus! I do have some pictures (just not of Holy Week). I guess the theives didn't want my disposable camera as much as my underwear. I'll try to dig them up. They'll be fun to edit and fix!

@petaqui It's always a good idea to carry lots of underwear. ;) No, they robbed our car and took all our luggage. I can't remember what city we were in though. I know we were on our way from Madrid to Savilla and had stopped to eat...we were always stopping to eat.
Next year (if you're stil on this) can I put in some requests for pictures of Saints?

Intriguing, thank you for the info, I´m not at all familiar with catholic traditions....I´m with the others, the hoods reminded me of KKK but of course it´s obvious that it´s not the case.

Ha - my initial thought was of the KKK, too!! This is lovely - you did well with manual focus and low light! If you love travelling, would absolutely recommend Edinburgh. But bring warm clothes!
