Tidal play

...Shellharbour.

Taken with Lomo LC-A on Ilford PanF Plus 50 ASA and developed in Ilfosol 3 (1+14) for 5:30 at 18C.
Beautiful! The human in the frame adds so much more interest.

Lovely Peter!

It is amazing. Fav. That boy should be careful! - This image brought back memories of a place here in Maine, Acadia National Park. There is a place on the ocean with a fence like this called Thunder Hole. Boys were complaining that it wasn't wild enough and one got sucked right in and drowned.
January 16th, 2013
Stunning capture of the splashes of water and interesting candid shot/scene.
January 16th, 2013
Even better with the boy in the image to add scale

Such a great shot! I love the waves!
January 16th, 2013
Is that fence save anough for this boy to be walking there? I agree the human factor adds to the picture especially if it looks a bit risky what he is doing. wonderful shot Peter.

January 18th, 2013
Cool. I was just telling Shelly I bought some Kodachrome after seeing the film about Steve McCurry with the last roll, and she was like, you know you can't develop it. so my next challenge will be using Kodachrome and developing in black and white chems at home!!
January 18th, 2013
@chewyteeth you now have the last roll. I watched the first 30 secs and was very cynical of spin
January 18th, 2013
@chewyteeth I a Digibase C41 kit coming from Maco direct, but have now found a supplier in Sydney of Tetenal products including E6 kits. Why not try to develop as colour. @grizzlysghost has just done a roll of colour that looks pretty damn good. The how to videos on you tube demonstrate that it is not that hard. My view is that I don't want to pay $8 a sheet for C41 in 4x5 developing, but it is also coming down to it being handmade.
January 18th, 2013
@chewyteeth Ugh, Kodachrome! Fantastic film if used properly; a ROYAL pain in the ass (arse?) to develop due to the rem jet backing. Nasty stuff. Nasty, nasty stuff. I sold my final two rolls of Kodachrome a couple of months back.
January 18th, 2013
@grizzlysghost no illusions or spin for you about Kodachrome
January 18th, 2013
@peterdegraaff @grizzlysghost

I just liked the time he took about each precious shot, regardless of the brand or gimic. I wanna do that!! Yeah I just bought some borax crystals to remove the remjet.....but then I got an email off the guy who sold me the film and I told him I didn't realise it wasn't possible to develop, yet said whatever I'll use it, he told me he hasn't sent it and will give me a full refund. meh. anyone want some borax crystals?
January 18th, 2013
@chewyteeth @grizzlysghost I think that is almost the point about digital. Yeah you can take amazing photos with it, but is neat for locating the shot to use with precious film.
January 18th, 2013
@peterdegraaff @grizzlysghost

oh and my Minolta turned up today, and after a tough day building a fence in a snow storm I decided I needed a treat and finally bought the Carl Zeiss planar lens for my Contax SLR. whoop!!! I just messaged the guy (who sells some ace old film actually) and said if he hasn't sent the kodachrome he can send me some old 1981 Tri-X tx135. so fingers crossed.
January 18th, 2013
Oh and Peter I messaged Nate and just said it had links with the pro tog shit camera challenge on youtube, and that we were all gonna use the one camera which was for me a point of consistency to show our different styles with no camera variables, which was the idea before shitcam gave up the ghost. He said he needs pictures for the article, I directed him to you.
January 18th, 2013
@chewyteeth I was trying to win a Zeiss lens to lend to you
January 18th, 2013
@chewyteeth took a roll of Delta 400 for ahi toque before sending off. Might develop tomorrow
January 18th, 2013
Great timing - really like the waves crashing against the side of the pool. Fabulous composition / b&w Peter
