Thank you for the get pushed challenge. Really excited to get started with it tomorrow. Will try to do Mon-Sun! I'm away from home so I won't be able to upload shots from my camera until Wednesday unfortunately. I've really enjoyed looking through your January pictures. As a get pushed challenge how about working around the theme 'pattern' this week. Could be a pattern formed by nature or by man. Perhaps some shots could be in colour and others b/w? What do you think?
January 28th, 2013
@prochownia sounds ok. I like looking for natural patterns but this might push me further
January 28th, 2013

January 28th, 2013
Instant fav. I love the simplicity of the tower against the stormy sky. I find it interesting that you developed for 12 minutes. I've found my TMax to lack contrast all together. I wonder if I'm not developing long enough. What temperature are you using?
January 28th, 2013
@cmc1200 I *believe* I was doing 68 degrees (not sure in C) for onlly 6.5 or 7.5 seconds.
January 28th, 2013
Really like this shot Peter - Fav!
January 28th, 2013
@cmc1200 I think you would have gone for 6 to 7 minutes if it was stock D76 and not diluted. I use the http://www.digitaltruth.com/apps/ to get times. I diulted D76 1:1 which will increase time. I then selected option of pushing it from 100 to 200ASA in developing and this probably why it went 12 mins. znot sure that I am sold on TMax because I like the silveriness and greys of FP4+ Nothwithsatnding that, can see why TMax is popular to bring out storminess and contrasts of deserts. Plan on doing some tests with TMax andFP4+ before coming over. have developed 12 sheets of 4x5 Fomopan today in D76. Am going to try and get some Rodinal to try out too.
January 28th, 2013
cool!
January 28th, 2013
@peterdegraaff Right...now I do see that you diluted it. I haven't tried the FP4 yet, but my "Film Processing Guy" at the drugstore has recommended it to me. I have a roll of XP2 (I think) that's a C41 process. I am going to try that out next month. Over the weekend I picked up a roll of Fuji Provia 400. I found a great camera store in SLC that stocks a lot of film and developing supplies.
January 28th, 2013
@cmc1200 That is great to find a stockist, and have some choice to experiment. I dilute mainly to save on chemicals. Some recipes might recommend developing times up to 20 minutes depending on dilution. This satrts to get really complicated and I will need to start reading books on it.
